This production was done in collaboration with my brilliant creative partner, Sam Bydlon. Sam was our director on set and also handled all of the editing/post-production. I handled all of the pre-production, art direction, and styling.
Our client was Sttoke, a coffee mug company based out of Australia, who wanted assets for their core line of travel mugs to use in ads around Mother's Day and Father's Day. They wanted to make sure we highlighted the mug, but gave us free reign otherwise with art direction.
We wanted to make sure these were eye-catching but simple. For the Mother's Day portion we utilized elegant fabric as well as florals from Rosemary Floral Co. to give it a delicate, beautiful tone. For the Father's Day portion, we used the contrast of leather with dark fabrics, and wanted to capture the father's strength as well as his gentleness. We shot at Realm in Denver, Colorado.
